Dr. Kieva, a medical doctor by training, began building Fertitude after navigating her own diagnosis of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). While she had the medical knowledge to advocate for herself, she quickly realized that most women lacked even the basic vocabulary to ask questions about their health.

“Too many women are left in the dark about their bodies. We are here to change that, not just by building apps that make it fun to track your health, but by addressing the stigma and silence around these issues, and by making it normal to speak up about your health,” she shared.

Fertitude aims to plug the health literacy gap by offering plain-language, culturally sensitive content, gamified experiences, AI-powered symptom insights, and access to vetted experts.

Recognition and Rising Influence

Dr. Kieva’s invitation to speak at AHTS followed her selection into the Africa CDC’s Youth in Digital Health Network (YIDHN), a pan-African initiative recognizing young innovators shaping the future of health systems. Earlier this year, she received the Best Business Model Award at the YIDHN Bootcamp in Accra, Ghana.

Dr. Kieva’s trajectory has been anything but conventional. After leaving clinical medicine, she bootstrapped an e-commerce venture to over 600,000 dollars in revenue, led growth at She Leads Africa, one of the largest platforms for Black women in Africa and the diaspora, and returned to health determined to build a better way.

She co-leads Fertitude with Ken Ovienadu, a Senior Software Engineer with prior experience at Google-backed Akoma Health and YC-backed 54Gene. The company is expected  to launch three new phones later this year as the Apple's fiscal fourth-quarter outlook is closely watched which is normally the period the company unveil the new iPhone. The company sold 41.3 million iPhone  in the third quarter and they made a revenue of $29.9 billion at high average selling price of $724 but the iPhone X has just started it average selling price at $999.



The company is expecting it fiscal fourth-quarter revenue to be between  $60billion and $62billion. It just a matter of time the company will worth $1trillion as the world is watching.

Huawei  is a Chinese multinational networking, telecommunications equipment manufacturing company in the world which focused on manufacturing phone switches but they have expanded to building telecommunications networks, providing Operational and consulting services  and equipment to enterprises in China and outside of China and manufacturing communications.


Huawei Technology co. Passed Apple Inc. to claim the 2nd position in the global smartphone shipments in the second quarter. The company shipped 54.2 million mobile phones in the quarter, a 41 percent which is more than a year earlier which help them to jump in front of the iPhone maker for the first time but are behind Samsung Electronic Co. according to the market research firm IDC.


Huawei accounted for 16 percent of the market measured to the 21 percent of the South Korea Samsung and 12 percent for Apple then the Xiaomi corp. that have smartphone product Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro among others and Oppo that also have smartphone product like Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition that are based In China now round up the Top five.


Huawei has gained influence as their domestic market grow in continent like Africa and Europe but has fail to crack massive U.S market as Apple dominate the land. The Apple company has treated their product with high honor and trend to sell iPhone at higher price than their rivals and they profit from services like iTunes which helps it to top earning estimates for the quarter.

A senior analyst at Canalys stated that The importance of  Huawei overtaking Apple in the quarter cannot be overstated and he also reported the shift in quarterly market shares. This is the first time in seven years that Apple and Samsung has not held the top second position. The Samsung and Apple have to make their portfolio more competitive.


The South Korean company which makes memory chips and screen " Samsung " took a hit from the sluggish market. The Huawei is going to fight Samsung to overtake them and it serve as a  warning to Apple which needs to ship volume to support its growing service.
