Over the weekend, photos and videos began circulating on social media showing the singer in the densely populated Lagos community of Ajegunle, not for a music video shoot, but for the launch of a new charity, the Brilliant Minds Foundation.

For anyone who has listened to his music, this move feels deeply authentic. Rohees has built his brand on the back of lyrics that speak directly to the realities of street life, rapping. Now, he's putting his money and his time where his mouth is.  

Ajegunle, popularly known as AJ City, is a community known for its resilience and for producing some of Nigeria's biggest stars in music and sports, despite facing immense challenges like poverty and inadequate infrastructure. It's a place where, as one resident described, everyone has to be a "hustler" to survive.  

Partnering with local community leaders, the  Brilliant  Minds Foundation launched its first initiative: a two-part program aimed at providing both immediate relief and long-term skills. The foundation distributed food items and care packages to hundreds of families, many of whom are struggling in the current economic climate.

But the initiative didn't stop there. In a move inspired by the work of organizations like the Paradigm Initiative, Rohees also announced a digital skills training program for the youth of Ajegunle. The program aims to equip young people with the tools they need to compete in the digital economy, offering a tangible pathway out of the cycle of poverty.  

In a short clip posted online, Rohees was seen speaking to a group of young people. This act of giving back adds a powerful new layer to his music. It's clear that his definition of blessings isn't just about personal success, but about being a blessing to others.  

In an industry often focused on glitz and glamour, it's refreshing to see an artist so deeply committed to the community he represents in his music. Rohees is showing that being "extraordinary" isn't just about fame or fortune; it's about using your platform to uplift the very people who inspire your art.
