Football FanIQ launches as Nigeria’s first all-in-one football fan intelligence platform

Lagos-based technology company, Aurum Digital Consulting Limited, has launched Football FanIQ™, an all-in-one football fan intelligence platform designed to provide supporters with a more personalised, interactive and informed way of following the game.

The platform, developed in Lagos for football fans globally, combines artificial intelligence, match-viewing information, tactical analysis, VAR explanations, fan finance tools and personalised features in a single Progressive Web App (PWA).

The company, which is also behind Aftermail, said Football FanIQ was created to go beyond the conventional scores, fixtures and news platforms by focusing on the broader experience of being a football fan.

A spokesperson for Aurum Digital Consulting Limited said the platform was designed to give supporters practical tools that would help them understand and enjoy the game differently.

“Football fans already have countless places to find scores and news. We did not want to build another one. Football FanIQ is about giving supporters useful tools that make the experience of following football more personal, informed and interactive,” the spokesperson said.

Among the platform’s features is WatchFinder, which enables users to discover where football matches can be watched across 195 countries.

PredictIQ allows fans to predict match outcomes and compete against Football FanIQ’s artificial intelligence, while Talking Tactics provides analysis of formations, patterns of play and strategic decisions made during matches.

The platform also features VAR Decoder, which seeks to simplify controversial Video Assistant Referee decisions by explaining the relevant football rules and why particular decisions may have been reached.

According to the company, the feature is intended to help fans understand contentious incidents before forming opinions or joining debates surrounding them.

Beyond match analysis, Football FanIQ incorporates tools focused on the personal experience of supporting a football club.

Its MindScore feature enables fans to track the emotional highs and lows associated with following their teams, creating a personal record of how victories, defeats and major football moments affect their experience.

Another feature, FanWallet, supports more than 40 currencies and allows users to track the financial cost of following football, including spending on subscriptions, tickets, travel and merchandise.

MatchIQ helps supporters organise fixtures they consider important, while Fan Rights provides information and tools intended to help football consumers better understand their rights.

The company said the platform reflects its broader ambition to demonstrate that globally relevant consumer technology can be conceived and built in Nigeria.

“For a long time, African consumers have largely received technology products built elsewhere and adapted for our markets. We want to demonstrate that the direction can also be reversed.

“Football FanIQ is being developed in Lagos with the ambition to serve football fans anywhere in the world. For us, it is from Nigeria to the world, and not from the world to Nigeria,” the spokesperson said.

Aurum also explained that it deliberately adopted the Progressive Web App model to make the platform accessible to users across different devices and markets.

The company said users can access Football FanIQ through a web browser and add it to their phone’s home screen, providing an app-like experience without requiring a conventional app-store installation.

“We deliberately chose a Progressive Web App approach because accessibility matters. Fans can open Football FanIQ directly in their browser, add it to their home screen and use it much like an app, while keeping the experience lightweight and reducing unnecessary data consumption,” the spokesperson said.

“That is particularly important when you are building for both African and global users.”

Positioned by its developers as Nigeria’s first all-in-one football fan intelligence app, Football FanIQ brings together match discovery, AI-powered predictions, tactical education, VAR interpretation, fan spending, emotional tracking and fixture management.

The company said its long-term ambition is to build a platform that becomes increasingly personalised as supporters use its various tools, while demonstrating the capacity of Nigerian technology companies to develop products for international audiences.

Football FanIQ is developed by Aurum Digital Consulting Limited in Lagos, Nigeria.
